Yerlan Galiyev graduated from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas with a degree in Petroleum Geology.
He began his professional career in 2008 as a field operator at the Kenbai oil field in the Atyrau region with Embamunaigas JSC.
At the Kainarmunaigas Oil and Gas Production Department, he advanced from production geologist to Head of the Geology and Field Development Service.

From 2015 to 2017, he worked as a lead engineer in the Geology and Field Development Department at KazMunayGas Exploration and Production JSC.
From 2017 to 2022, he served as Director of the Geology and Field Development Department at Ural Oil and Gas LLP.
From 2022 to 2023, he held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Geology.
Since July 25, 2023, he has been serving as Chairman of the Management Board of the National Geological Service JSC.

Mr. Galiyev is a member of the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve.
