Session 9 - Optimisation of Mining Production in Central Asia – Best Practices and Technologies
25 June 2025 / 16:30 - 18:00 | Grand Ballroom

A template solution for automation of mining laboratories based on LabWare LIMS.

Mining is a rather complex and multi-stage production, accompanied by many processes and subprocesses. Laboratories in the mining industry use high-precision methods to determine the smallest metal content in a sample, perform various routine processes. Almost any action, be it sampling, recording results or generating a protocol, must be recorded in special journals. Equipment management processes, personnel, etc. are also documented. Data loss is an undesirable event for a laboratory, since the traceability of the sample life cycle is disrupted and important information necessary for making operational decisions is lost. Laboratories are also subject to strict requirements and there are criteria for confirming competence. To facilitate compliance with these requirements, save any information, reduce its distortion as a result of the human factor, increase the efficiency of making management decisions, and in accordance with the specifics of testing, a special template solution for laboratories of mining enterprises based on LabWare LIMS (LabWare Mining CIS) has been developed. The LabWare Mining CIS template solution includes the main functional blocks developed in accordance with the possible needs of the laboratory, namely: conducting sample tests; managing laboratory equipment; managing internal laboratory control; managing the microclimate of premises; managing standards and reagents; managing personnel; accounting for crucibles and monitoring their contamination with DM; supporting secure reports and digital signatures; managing non-conformities and claims; managing documentation, etc. The report will provide general information about the template solution, a brief description of each of the blocks.
