Session 1 - Regional Cooperation and Strategic Partnerships for Critical Mineral Ecosystems
24 June 2025 / 10:00 - 11:00 | Grand Ballroom

The European Union, its global gateway initiative and sustainable mining

Since 2022, the European Union, its global gateway initiative and new policy for Central Asia rolls out a new way of doing investments in ingratrscture, green energy, supply chains and critical raw materials which both promotes global trade, industrialisation, growth, security, technology transfer and the environment. At a times in which everyday people feel the effects of pollution, and at a time of protectionism and conflict between the US and China, the EU is offering a third way which continues to engage with global trade and which continues to promote investment and environmental standards, especially in critical raw materials and mining.
