The State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established in 1926 on the basis of accumulated rocks and minerals collected by geologists by that time. The Geological Museum was based on the collections of a small museum of the former Glavgeology of Uzbekistan and extensive collection materials collected by geological organizations, enterprises, institutions, well-known geologists and researchers of the subsoil of the Republic, Central Asia and other countries of the world, for more than 90 years of activity of the Geological Survey of Uzbekistan. The museum has 12 exhibition halls, which house expositions covering all areas of domestic geological science and practice.
